Causes Of Panic Attacks

Panic Attacks are a common issue and are a terrifying ordeal, generally a panic attack comes without warning, is a sudden impact and comes with an over whelming sense of fear. A panic attack can be very frightening and simply understanding the panic attack can give you great relief and a sense of calm. The causes of panic attacks can be varied and depend very much on the individual person.

The initial panic attack will come from no where and may be caused by a number of reasons, the initial or first panic attack is common in an intense and stressful situation, the recurring panic attacks can be triggered by a similar circumstance or a situation with the slightest similarities.

It's when the panic attacks are occurring on a regular basis and in everyday or common events that the condition is of concern for the affected person. The affected person may start to avoid certain circumstances to avoid the panic attack and symptoms associated - this is a major issue and is very common within sufferers.

Causes of panic attacks can be different in individuals, a common panic attack (the initial or first panic attack) may be caused by an intense situation, stressful or a genuinely frightening situation such as an accident, crash, fight, robbery or similar. This type of frightening accident triggers the unconscious mind into survival mode. Your body is preparing itself by pumping blood to muscles and getting ready to fight or run, you may even spew and feel sick - this is preparing your body for action and maybe making you less appealing to the threat.

A panic attack is simply a defense or attacking mechanism triggered by an event and the response is by your unconscious mind. Unfortunately your unconscious mind will remember the event and some of the circumstances as well, when the person is subjected to a similar occurrence the mind remembers and clicks into the fight or flight mode again - hence creating the panic attack.

Do not fear a panic attack and remember that it's normal, you will not pass out, have a heart attack, die and you are not going crazy, you are not losing it and it will end soon.

Don't alter your situation or avoid the situation, this will only feed the fear and tell your mind that yes, it's a danger. Reassure yourself that you will be okay and remember to breathe deeply. Identify the causes of panic attacks and this will help you to treat and eventually get rid of your panic attacks.
