Panic Attack Symptoms

First things first, symptom is used to define an illness by your doctor, panic attacks and anxiety are actually behavioral conditions. Panic attack symptoms will vary from each sufferer, below we list some of the common symptoms - we will continue to use "symptom" through out this article though.

Panic attacks are scary and are normal symptoms, primarily used by your subconscious to act without your knowledge and input (knowingly input), in cases of danger or perceived danger, panic attacks are generally caused by a highly stressful situation and then once the first panic attack has been registered your mind may play tricks and perceive similar non-threatening situations as a danger and trigger the same or similar panic attack as the original (unfortunately the similar situation can be a safe and non-threatening environment).

Below are the common symptoms

Rapid heart beat including pounding heart and palpitations.

Sweating and clammy skin, including palms, feet, underarms and face.

Shaking both visibly and inside or emotionally.

Choking or gagging sensations, lump in throat and swallowing issues.

Smothering or shortness of breath is felt.

Chest pains and chest discomfort.

Light headed, dizzy and unsteadiness.

The feeling of nausea, bloating, abdominal discomfort and indigestion.

The loss of reality, dream like state of reality.

Feeling like your out of your body and watching yourself - depersonalization.

Feelings of going crazy and loosing control.

Feeling of tingles and tingling under the skin and this cab be in the face and body.

Hot and Cold flushes - can be accompanied by sweating and clammy skin.

Loss of skin tone and color.

Whilst it's most likely that you wont have all of these side effects having over four is a symptoms of a panic attack and under four of these symptoms is a mild case - limited symptom attack.

It's also worth noting that panic attacks and anxiety are very similar both in feelings and in symptoms, you can go a whole life time with anxiety and never suffer from a panic attack.

Whilst the above is true to our knowledge at the time of writing and publishing this article, it's also worth noting that you may have all these symptoms and more - don't stress if you have more as it can be natural as each case and individual is different.
